Dr Nair is a cardiologist with a subspecialty interest in interventional cardiology, particularly in complex angioplasty procedures. His clinical experience includes the use of intravascular imaging techniques such as Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), rotablation and lithotripsy.
He graduated from the National University of Ireland and gained clinical experience in Ireland and the United Kingdom before returning to Singapore to complete his advanced specialty training in cardiology at the National Heart Centre. He later trained under Professor Eberhard Grube at the Helios Heart Centre in Siegburg, Germany, which is known for its trials of cardiac devices and procedures including percutaneous valve implantation, novel arterial stents and coronary imaging techniques.
Dr Nair is a fellow of several professional bodies, including the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the Royal College of Physicians of London, the American College of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology, and the American Society of Cardiac Angiology and Intervention.
He also serves as a Council Member of the Football Association of Singapore and Chairman of its Medical Committee. He is an accredited sports medicine specialist with the American College of Sports Medicine and is a member of both the Chapter of Cardiology, Academy of Medicine, Singapore and the Singapore Cardiac Society.
