Bio

Dr Wanahita is a cardiologist with clinical interests in cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences at Saint Louis University, earned a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, and obtained his Doctor of Medicine from Creighton University School of Medicine.

He completed his postgraduate residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, and subsequently pursued a fellowship in preventive and general (clinical) cardiology, during which he was elected Chief Fellow in his final year. He then completed a subspecialty fellowship in interventional cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York.

Dr Wanahita is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and holds additional board certification in nuclear cardiology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI).

He has practised at leading hospitals and cardiac cath labs in New York including Lenox Hill Hospital and New York University Langone Medical Center, and served as faculty member at the Columbia University Medical Center and the New York University School of Medicine.

Dr Wanahita has published scientific papers as the first author in various medical journals and has presented at international cardiology conferences. He has served as peer reviewer for leading journals, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC), Circulation, and the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).

He is also regularly invited as a faculty member and speaker at both local and international cardiology and interventional cardiology meetings.
